The Fourth Annual Barn Tour

We are excited to announce our 4th Annual Barn Tour scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2010

Fascinated by old barns? Enjoy the unique experience of being able to tour inside some of the wonderful old barns along our rural roads in the Saucon Valley area.  Each barn is truly one-of-a-kind. This will be a great opportunity for the public to tour a selection of historic barns, an important part of the area's rich agricultural history.

The barns dotting our landscape each tell a story of life on the farm, a way of life of the early settlers of Saucon Township which later became Lower Saucon Township and Hellertown Borough as we know them today. Step back in time with us as we pay tribute to our agricultural past and these magnificent barns.

The Saucon Valley Conservancy wishes to extend our deepest appreciation and gratitude to all who made the 3rd Annual Barn Tour held on September 12, 2009, a success.  Because of the tremendous support of our sponsors and volunteers, we have started work on the Heller Barn Stabilization project. We extend special thanks to the barn owners who graciously opened their barn doors for you to walk back in time as you learn about the unique architecture which makes these barns worthy of our tour.  Sincere appreciation and respect goes out to our renowned speakers who can't say enough about our barns and the importance of preserving these treasures for the future. We gratefully acknowledge all the committee members and volunteers who spent many hours planning this event to raise awareness and funding for the preservation and restoration of the Heller Barn.

The 2009 Barn Tour is dedicated to all those who gave their time and talents to preserve your community's precious historic resources.
